FAQ

The legal

Is this legal?

Yes. The designation Dangerous Dog is public, issued by a public body — Toronto Animal Services, under section 349-16.1 of the Municipal Code. Our use of it is transformative civic commentary, protected under Canadian fair-dealing law (parody, satire, criticism) and US fair use (criticism, commentary, parody). We are not affiliated with the City of Toronto, Toronto Animal Services, or any municipality that has ever issued a Dangerous Dog Order. We don't claim to be. We mock the designation because we think it's cowardly.

Will Toronto Animal Services sue you?

They would need standing to sue over a word they themselves put into the public record. The designation is public, the law is public, we quote both openly. If they want to come after a t-shirt, they are welcome to try.

My dog isn't registered Dangerous — can I still buy this?

Yes. The brand is for anyone who thinks the designation is bullshit. If your dog has never been labelled, buy it in solidarity with the ones who have.

My dog IS registered Dangerous — can I still buy this?

Especially you. If you got the letter, we'd like you to have the merch.

The logistics

When does the drop ship?

Within 48 hours of your order going in. Everything is made when you buy it. Nothing is held in a warehouse. See how we make it.

Why no inventory?

The fashion industry burns 92 million tonnes of textile waste a year. A lot of that is stuff that was made for people who never bought it. We don't want to add to the pile. We also don't want to tell you a size is sold out when nothing actually sold out — we just guessed wrong. So we don't guess.

Where do you ship?

Worldwide, from Toronto. 2–5 days inside Canada, 4–7 days to the US, 7–12 days international. DDP for CA / US / UK / EU — the price you see includes landed duty.

Returns?

30 days on blank fit. Final sale on anything with a name engraved or printed — custom tags, personalised orders.

Who makes this?

Bad Dog Supply Co. is a venture of Growth Automated Inc. (Toronto). Rahul Sharma, founder. We run the full ecommerce playbook on ourselves, in public, so you can see what works before you spend a dollar.

Can I license the art?

Email hello@baddogsupply.ca. If you're a rescue, a shelter, a bully-breed advocacy group, or a vet clinic that would like to carry this merch, we talk, we don't need middlemen.
